| Dear Members Yesterday, the Government published the Commonhold white paper – please refer to the link below for the paper and also the press release from the MHCLG. The FPRA welcomes the publication of this white paper as we have long campaigned for reform of the leasehold system and simplification and mainstreaming of Commonhold tenure to replace the feudal system used for centuries in England & Wales. We will be looking closely at the detail to inform the draft legislation that comes forward to ensure leaseholders are empowered to have a greater say about how their buildings are run and to ensure that existing leaseholders are not treated as a second class of tenure to commonholders.
