Anushka Nicholas has joined the FPRA as Honorary Consultant. She qualified as a Solicitor in 2004 and joined Black Solicitors in 2016, where she is currently a Partner. She heads up the Leasehold Enfranchisement and Management Services (LEMS) team.
Anushka specialises in residential leasehold law and has extensive experience dealing with and advising on all types of residential leasehold transactions. She has a reputation for being extremely thorough when acting for her clients, utilising her expert technical knowledge to achieve the best results possible. As a result she has been recognised by The Legal 500 as ‘extremely knowledgeable and fights the client’s corner at all times’.
Now, as part of the FPRA’s subject matter experts, Anushka will provide members with insight, knowledge and guidance on lease extensions (negotiated or statutory), purchase and sale of freehold or leasehold blocks of flats, Right to Manage claims, drafting new leases including deeds of variation, licence for alterations and licence to assign. In addition, her team are also instructed by a number of managing agents to support and deal with leasehold enquiries, including advising on interpretation of lease terms and enforcement of tenant covenants.
